Some SailAmx (application) features have direct integrations with the Google APIs.

What data are we requesting?

The SailAmx application is requesting access to the following Google APIs:

  • Google Drive (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file)

Why are we requesting Google user data?

The SailAmx application allows its own users to export data to third-party services like Google. From the application, a user has the possibility to export data to a Google Sheet document and stores it directly on his/her personal Google Drive account.

The SailAmx application is requesting user data in order to correctly identify the user own Google account to work with, generate the Google Sheet spreadsheet document and store or update the document on the user Google Drive storage.

The application has only the capability to generate or update documents built by itself. In any case, the SailAmx application tries to manage user personal documents stored in his/her Google Drive account. SailAmx application can only create or update a Google Sheet document. The document is, by default, stored at the root of a user Google Drive account. The user is also defined as the owner of the document. The user can delete the created document directly by accessing his/her Google Drive account.

Also, in order to avoid mutliple authorization requests, SailAmx stores an OAuth Refresh Token, after user had granted authorization, to quickly identify the user on successive requests. For example: as a user, the first time a request is made to create a Google Sheet document, the user must give its authorization following Google OAuth Consent screen steps. Once authorized, the document is created and the token stored on the SailAmx application. Next time, as a user, a second request is made to create or update a Google Sheet document, the user no longer requires to give its consent thanks to the token. This helps us smooth the process and provides to you, as a user, a better user experience while using our features.

How long is the authorization granted by a user?

Once first authorization has been granted, the stored token gives user access for a large period, up to 6 months. The access to user data can expire for different reasons (see official documentation) or you can manually revoke your access from the Google Account - Security page under the "Your connections to third-party apps & services" section.

Contextual usage

The use of user Google data is contextual and is not automatically performed on and by all SailAmx users.
Google user data authorization is used in the following features:

  • Export

Any other usage of SailAmx features does not require access to Google user data.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
